as of yesterday, at least, when i didn't have time to make a post about it. i started in april of 2015, and effectively quit in 2023 to focus on my career in graphic novels. it ran for 8 years of pretty much uninterrupted updates, but eventually balancing it with another comic became more than i could handle, and i had to let it go.
i feel like i've talked enough about how good of a decision that was for my mental health and career, so i won't go deep into it again. but it is always okay to quit something that isn't making you happy anymore, regardless of how long you've spent on it. it's never a waste.
over the years i've been asked what would become of lucy, because i never had an ending in mind. and i still don't, but: i'm sure they would have been alright. it would take shaking off the expectations of everyone around them, and finding their own path, but i'm sure they would have. it's independence they need, a happiness unhitched to someone else, and i'm sure they'd find their way to it.
to those of you who were here from the beginning (or even before the beginning), and those who came in by the end, i wouldn't have the wonderful career and life i have now if not for all of you, and lucy, making it possible.
thank you
incidentally, Hunger's Bite has come out! if you haven't already, you should check it out. it's very good! you can probably find it at your local library, or order a copy for yourself.
